Sh’t Show is a work of satire and parody, created and distributed by IRB International LLC for the purpose of comedy, social commentary, and entertainment. This page explains what that means in practice — and what it does not mean.
1. Satire and parody
All cards, illustrations, character names, slogans, and accompanying materials in Sh’t Show are satirical works of fiction. They are intended as commentary, criticism, and comedy regarding public figures, public events, political conduct, and cultural moments — topics of legitimate public concern.
Satire and parody are forms of expression long recognized as protected speech under the First Amendment of the United States Constitution and analogous protections in other jurisdictions. Nothing in this game should be read as a statement of fact.
2. The characters are fictional
The caricatures, illustrations, names, and personas depicted in Sh’t Show are fictional. They are exaggerated comedic archetypes, designed to evoke recognizable public personas in a clearly humorous way.
Any resemblance — physical, behavioral, vocal, sartorial, or otherwise — to any real person, living or dead, is entirely intentional, entirely satirical, and entirely commentary. No card, illustration, or piece of game text in Sh’t Show should be interpreted as a literal statement about any specific real individual.
We do not claim that any caricature is any real person, and we make no factual assertions about any real person’s conduct, beliefs, or character. Reasonable readers will recognize the work as parody.
3. No endorsement, no affiliation
IRB International LLC is not affiliated with, sponsored by, endorsed by, or otherwise connected to any government, political party, candidate, elected official, public figure, media outlet, or commercial entity that may be referenced or alluded to in the game.
No public figure has reviewed, approved, licensed, or otherwise authorized the use of their likeness, name, or persona in this game. None is required: parody and commentary on matters of public concern do not require permission of the subject.
4. Trademarks and references
To the extent any trademarked terms, slogans, titles, or symbols are referenced in Sh’t Show, such references are used solely for the purposes of commentary, criticism, satire, and parody, in a manner that constitutes fair use under 17 U.S.C. § 107 and analogous doctrine. No commercial endorsement or association is implied.
5. For entertainment only
Sh’t Show is intended for adults aged 18+ as an adult party game. It is not journalism, news, investigative reporting, legal advice, political advocacy, voter information, medical advice, or guidance of any other kind. Nothing in the game should be treated as factually accurate or as advice of any sort. Players should not rely on game content for any decision of consequence.
6. Player-generated content (blank cards)
Sh’t Show includes blank cards on which players may write their own text. Any content created by players on blank cards is the sole responsibility of those players. IRB International LLC does not author, endorse, review, or assume liability for player-generated text. Players are expected to use good judgment, comply with applicable law, and refrain from creating content that is defamatory, threatening, harassing, or otherwise unlawful.
7. Free speech
We believe in the right of citizens — and small companies — to engage in satire, parody, and commentary on public figures and public affairs without prior restraint. This game is an exercise of that right. We reject the idea that humor about people in power is off limits, and we welcome reasonable disagreement about taste, target, or tone.
8. No defamation intended
Nothing in Sh’t Show is intended to defame, libel, or maliciously misrepresent any real person. If a specific card, image, or phrase is brought to our attention as having been read literally rather than satirically, or as having unintentionally caused harm to a private individual, we will review the concern in good faith and, where appropriate, take corrective action in future printings.
Concerns may be directed to support@shitshowthegame.com.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, IRB International LLC, its owners, employees, contractors, and affiliates disclaim liability for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from the use, interpretation, or display of Sh’t Show or any of its components. Total liability, if any, is limited to the amount paid by the claimant for the product.
10. Governing law
This disclaimer is governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, USA. Any dispute arising out of or relating to this disclaimer or to Sh’t Show shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Michigan.
Sh’t Show is a satire. We laugh because the alternative is worse.
